Goldstone led with his elbow in a challenge on the young Amakhosi striker, who was rushed to hospital with a fractured nose and possible fractures to other facial bones.
The former Kaizer Chiefs defender pleaded guilty to committing an act that caused serious bodily harm, in a hearing at the PSL’s offices last night.
Goldstone received a hefty R50 000 fine, of which R40 000 is suspended for 12 months, whilst R10 000 is payable within 60 days, and he is suspended for two league games.
He also has to pay the cost of the DC seating and has to issue a personal apology to Bulu and Kaizer Chiefs.
Goldstone does have the right to appeal the DC’s sentence.
As things stand, he would miss Maritzburg United’s league games against former club Bleomfontein Celtic (Sept 28) and their home match against AamaZulu. (Oct 4).
