Luca, 20, is currently plying his trade in Castilla [reserve team], but was a surprise inclusion in the first-team XI against Huesca this past weekend.
At Valdebebas [Real training-ground] he worked closely with Kiko Casilla before the towering shot-stopper opted for a move to Leeds United in January.
"Luca deserves all the good that comes his way," he told Marca. "I'll be the first to be happy for him because he's a great person and a great goalkeeper.
"I think he's made a leap with his maturity this year and he's doing well with Castilla. He has that thing that a goalkeeper needs."
Keylor Navas and Thibaut Courtois are currently ahead of Zidane in the pecking order but the Spain international believes the France youth international has the potential to thrive at the highest level.
"His immediate future is at Real Madrid, but you never know," Casilla explained.
"But I know he's going to be an elite goalkeeper for many years."
