‘Amabhubesi’ meet the Buccaneers at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.
The former Kaizer Chiefs playmaker recently fell ill with a bout of tuberculosis and has since been recovering at home in Johannesburg.
“Scara will be joining the team this weekend, but will obviously only watch from the stands as he still needs to regain his fitness before he can be considered for a spot in the first team,” club Communications Officer Thabani Gumede told the official PSL website.
Meanwhile, Thanda are crossing their fingers in the hope that their striker Nkosinathi Nhleko will pass a late fitness test ahead of the crucial clash.
“Nhleko suffered a minor injury during training but he is already doing light training,” Gumede explained.
Thanda Royals could miss up to four other players, apart from Bernard Parker and Felix Obada, who are currently in Sweden, for the match.
Striker Norman Smith is suffering from an ankle injury, veteran Zimbabwean Peter Ndlovu took a knock on the knee, as did midfielder Katlego Loke, while defender Bongani Mbele has been carrying a groin injury.
While Smith is almost out for certain, the other three are scheduled to face fitness tests today (Friday).
Parker and Obada are set to leave Sweden on Saturday night, arriving in Durban on Sunday, however the club is endeavouring to make arrangements for an earlier flight.
The good news for the Hammarsdale-based outfit is that defenders Ahmed Mohammed and Japie Motale are free from suspension and injury, respectively.
