Royal AM enlist psychologists to help players renew focus

Royal AM are set to remain in the GladAfrica Championship after losing their appeal against the PSL to be recognised as league champions.

The Durban-based outfit appealed the controversial decision to award Sekhukhune United three points and automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.

This was due to Sekhukhune lodged a protest against Polokwane City for failing to field the required number of Under 23's players earlier this year.

Royal AM is still adamant that they should be rightfully competing in the top-flight and appealed to the Supreme Court of Appeal.

Meanwhile, the club has enlisted the services of psychologists to help players stay motivated for the new season, according to coach Serame Moeketsi.

"I guess I have been addressed wrongly because I feel I am a champion after won the league fair and square ", Moketsi said.

"Secondly, in terms of how do I motivate my boys, we have managed to get some psychologists helping us with the boys and fortunate enough, we kept 99% of our players together. We didn't get rid of any players".

"What we did, we have been doing motivating camps with the boys, and at some time, we didn't even think of closing. We just kept the boys together.

"We have been doing a lot of activities to keep them together and motivated."

Royal AM have been drawn against Richards Bay in the KZN Premier's Cup set to take place in Durban on Saturday.
