Former Amajita captain Ayabulela Konqobe is not giving up his quest to break into the Bafana Bafana squad despite falling far down the pecking order.

Konqobe, who is currently playing in Finland for second division side Ekenas IF, has expressed his desire to represent the senior national team just as he did at junior level.

Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki has repeatedly said he wants to select players who would die for the country, and the 24-year-old former Ajax Cape Town defender says he is still up to the task.

"Every player wants to play for Bafana Bafana, every player wants to wear their national team jersey, it's a big thing," Konqobe tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"I've been representing my national teams since I was a young boy, under-17 and under-20 captain. I've made it in the under-23s and even made it to the Bafana Bafana squad but couldnt get an opportunity to play.

"But I still want to be back in that setup and fight for that team like any other player. So that's part of my objectives, being in Bafana Bafana and [to go further in] Europe."
