Bafana Bafana are set to be welcomed by 50 000 spectators when they travel to Lille on 29 March after the French Football Federation confirmed tickets for a seat at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy Stadium had been sold out.

The encounter between Hugo Broos' side and the reigning champions at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy Stadium which boasts an official capacity of 50 186 will come just four days after South Africa meet Guinea in Belgium, with the tour being Bafana Bafana's first trip to Europe since 2012.

France, meanwhile, will play Ivory Coast in their opening match of the international break, with French publication L'Equipe reporting that tickets for the clash between Les Bleus and Cote d'Ivoire have not sold as well as the match against South Africa.

Bafana Bafana famously met the European giants at the 2010 FIFA World Cup on home soil, where goals from Bongani Khumalo and Katlego Mphela earned the host nation a historic 2-1 victory, albeit not enough to secure progression in the competition.
