Al Ahly announced that Mosimane had requested to leave the club following an incredibly successful period in Egypt.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach became the first head coach to lift consecutive CAF Champions League titles with two different teams.
Then followed that up by lifting consecutive continental crowns with Al Ahly, alongside a bronze finish at the Club World Cup.
Mosimane suffered disappointment though on the continental stage with his side suffering a disappointing 2-0 defeat in this year's CAF Champions League final to Wydad Casablanca.
This failure has now seemingly cost Mosimane his job as head coach despite the numerous titles lifted since joining in September 2020.
The 57-year-old was in charge for 105 matches, with a record of 68 wins, 27 draws and just 10 defeats for an incredible winning ratio of 64.76%.— Al Ahly SC ???? (@AlAhlyEnglish) June 13, 2022
