Al Ahly's executive manager Said Shalaby has revealed the club's position on the future of coach Pitso Mosimane.

Mosimane's role as head coach at Al Ahly has come into question in recent weeks following the club's defeat to Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League final earlier this month.

This speculation was fueled when it became apparent that the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss would not be present for the club's Egypt Round of 32 clash against Masry Salloum on Sunday.

However, this was pre-planned between Mosimane and the club, who have thrown their support behind the renowned South African tactician.

"There is always coordination with the club's board and the planning committee. Mosimane had requested a vacation because we worked for long periods without rest, so his vacation was after coordination with the club," Shalaby said, per KingFut.

"If there were [any issues between the club and Mosimane] we would have said," he added. "But we are used in general that our problems is resolved inside the closed rooms and not in public, but there are no disputes.

"The Board of Directors does not see any problem with the team’s performance under Pitso Mosimane."
