Congolese striker Jean-Marc Mundele Makusu has moved on to join Pitso Mosimane in the Saudi Arabia first division a year and-a-half after leaving Orlando Pirates.

The journeyman forward has signed for Hajer FC straight after featuring at the CHAN finals where he played all three group stages matches for as DR Congo went out without scoring in Group B.

Makusu parted ways with St Eloi Lupopo back in his homeland earlier this month just a year after joining from DC Motema Pembe who he had joined after just six months back at AS Vita Club.

The 30-year-old’s deal with Lupopo was due to run until 2025 before he decided to terminate.

He has now been unveiled at Hajer who are battling in the lower half of the Saudi Arabia first division which is led by Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli Saudi FC.

"Hajar Club signed the final contract with the Congolese player, Gian Makusu, after he arrived in the Kingdom and passed the medical examinations.

"The signing procedures took place in the presence of the Director General of Football, Mr. Mishaal Al-Saeed, and the Director of Professionalism, Mr. Fouad Al-Musallam," reads a statement from the club.

Makusu is now on to his eleventh club of his career and has played in DR Congo, Belgium, Hungary, Algeria, Egypt, South Africa, and now Saudi Arabia.

The time he spent at Pirates was disastrous scoring once in eight appearances during the season (2020/21).
