Finnish top-flight side AC Oulu have confirmed the signing of former Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates youth product Yanga Baliso.
Yanga Baliso has completed another move abroad after being unveiled as a new signing by Finnish Veikkausliiga side AC Oulu on Sunday, with the 25-year-old signing a deal until the end of the 2023 season with an option of a one-year extension.
"AC Oulu and Yanga Baliso have signed a player contract for the coming season and it has an option for the 2024 season," the club announced in a statement over the weekend.
Baliso spent the previous three seasons playing for fellow Finnish top-flight side IFK Mariehamn where he made 56 appearances across all competitions before parting ways with the club earlier this month.
He was not on the market for long, however, after Oulu acted swiftly to secure his services ahead of the new campaign, which is set to get underway early next year.
"Yanga is a dynamic player who can play many different roles in the midfield," Sports Executive Director Markus Heikkinen added. "He likes to be on the ball a lot and knows how to promote the game both by passing and passing.
"Thanks to his quick feet and endurance, he has time and is able to participate in the game with a large radius. Defensively, he is a stable player who does not shy away from duel situations. Great to have Yanga AC in Oulu!"
