Things are not going to plan for George Lebese's Colorado Springs Switchbacks side this season after they extended their winless run in the USL Championship (USLC) to 10 matches on Wednesday.

The Switchbacks climbed into double figures for consecutive games without a win after suffering a 4-1 midweek defeat at the hands of Real Monarchs, despite taking an early lead in the match through Canadian midfielder Aidan Daniels.

The result extends the Colorado-based outfit's disappointing run of form that saw the club last record a victory on the opening day of the season in March, when they claimed a 2-1 win over OKC Energy just before the league was suspended.

Led by fellow South African Alan Koch, the Switchbacks have failed to record another victory since the league's return in July and have now drawn five and lost five of their matches since the restart.

Lebese has been one of his side's better performers during this period, and has scored twice in 11 appearances, including an expertly taken effort from range to secure the club's historic four-goal comeback against Austin Bold last month.

Koch and his team will be hoping to turn things around in the coming weeks as the Switchbacks currently occupy the fourth and last spot in Group C of the USLC with eight points, 12 points adrift of group leaders New Mexico United.
