Bafana Bafana striker Lars Veldwijk won a second consecutive Man of the Match award over the weekend following his game-winning performance for Suwon FC.

For the second match in a row, Veldwijk was handed the opportunity to lead Suwon's attack in the continued absence of the league's top goalscorer, An Byong-Jun, and marked the occasion with the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Seoul E-Land.

The 29-year-old's performance helped title-challenging Suwon climb to the top of the K League 2 standings, ahead of rivals Jeju United who have a game in hand, and earned him a second Man of the Match trophy in as many matches.

Veldwijk had claimed the previous award earlier in the week when he netted his first two goals for the club in a 2-0 win over Chungnam Asan, breaking a goalscoring drought that had extended back to May when he was still on the books of K League 1 side Jeonbuk Motors.

The Dutch-born striker has now netted three goals in 10 league appearances for the campaign, and will be hoping to maintain his current run to aid Suwon's push for promotion to South Korea's top flight for the first time since 2016.
