The former Cape Town City skipper had been the star of the show in his side’s first-leg clash away at lower league side Batman Petrolspor, scoring a brace and contributing an assist as well in a man-of-the-match display in a 3-0 victory for his club last month.

The 27-year-old was once again named in the starting line-up for the second leg played at Konyaspor’s Konya Büyüksehir Belediye Stadium, and played a hand in helping create the first goal of the match, which Gabonese striker Malick Evouna finished off to stretch the home side’s overall advantage.

Turkish midfielder Ismail Guven added another in the 76th minute, the 2-0 victory handing Konyaspor a 5-0 aggregate victory as they progressed to the Last 16 of the competition.

Manyama, who has just one start and five substitute appearances to his name in the league so far, will hope his good cup form will convince coach Mehmet Ozdilek to utilise him more in the Super Lig, with the South African having seen just two minutes of action in five matches over the past month.

Konyaspor, who sit 15th in the Turkish standings, take on sixth-placed Goztepe in their next league encounter on Monday night.
