Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau will spend another season in Belgium after joining 34-time champions Anderlecht on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.

On Wednesday morning, the Jupiler Pro League giants confirmed that Tau, 26, had joined the club on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, extending his stay in Belgium for a third consecutive season.

"Percy is a player who already knows our capital and the league," sporting director Peter Verbeke told the club's website.

"He is a creative, technically strong, fast and agile player, he can play in various attacking positions. In addition, he has already demonstrated that he can be efficient and decisive. Due to a lack of preparation, we just have to give him some time to be important for us, but we are of course happy with his added value to our squad."

Tau's move to Anderlecht comes less than a month after he left rivals Club Brugge, where he recorded three goals and four assists during the club's title-winning campaign last season. He also featured during Brugge's UEFA Champions League where he starred against the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward previously had a spell in the country's second division with Union Saint-Gilloise, where he won the league's Player of the Season award following the 2017/18 season.
