Percy Tau played an instrumental role for Al Ahly on Wednesday evening as the Egyptian giants recorded a 1-1 (6-5) penalty shootout win over Raja Casablanca in the CAF Super Cup.
The reigning African champions trailed to a Yasser Ibrahim own goal and were staring down defeat when Tau set Taher Mohamed up to score the equaliser in the 90th-minute of the clash.
Mohamed's goal forced the match to a penalty shootout, where Tau was one of the successful scorers as Al Ahly went on to claim a record-extending eighth title.
"I am so happy to win my first title with Al Ahly," the former Mamelodi Sundowns star told the club's website after the match.
"This is the beginning of my history here at Al Ahly. I came here to win titles and I am so happy to win the CAF Super Cup trophy tonight.
"The game was very tough, and we were one goal behind, but we managed to equalize the score and win the title."
