Percy Tau is one of six Al Ahly players who were laid low earlier this month after testing positive for Covid-19 and has played no part in the club's involvement at the inaugural Egyptian League Cup.
The South Africa international was previously described as being in a "stable condition" by the club but fears remained that he might not return in time for the global tournament in Qatar.
"Percy Tau and Luis Miquissone, Al Ahly players, tested negative for COVID-19," the club confirmed in an official statement.
"Sayed Abdelhafiz, Al Ahly director of football, stated that Tau performed a special recovery program for two days, before returning to the team's full training on Tuesday.
Tau joined Al Ahly from Brighton & Hove Albion at the start of the season and has scored five goals in eight appearances across all competitions for the season thus far.
Meanwhile, the Club World Cup is set to get underway on 3 February, with Ahly entering the competition two days later with a Second Round clash against Mexico's Monterrey.
