Tau, 26, has yet to make his full debut for the 34-time Jupiler Pro League champions since joining the club on a season-long loan deal from Brighton and Hove Albion.
After being left out of their matchday squad in their opening league game, four days after his arrival, Tau marked his first substitute appearance with a 93rd-minute goal in the 3-1 win over Sint Truiden.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns star built on his goal-scoring performance by winning a penalty to help Anderlecht take the lead in their 1-1 draw against Mouscron on Sunday - but former Belgium midfielder Cecile De Gernier feels it's time for him to be introduced into the starting eleven.
"I think Kompany should give him a chance in the starting team. He proved with his goal against STVV that he has enough scoring ability," De Gernier told Extra Time, as per VoetbalNieuws.
"Even now I didn't think he was a bad substitute. He can really teach the team something in the attacking compartment."
Tau is likely to replace 18-year-old prospect Anouar Ait El Hadj as the right inside-forward within the front-three for Kompany's line-up when they face off against KV Oostende on Friday.
