Earlier this week, reports claimed that Mosimane's son Reatlegile had begun trialling with Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, after images of him wearing the LaLiga giants' training gear circulated across social media.
This publication has learned that this is not the case, however, and that Mosimane Jr. was simply training with one of Barcelona's satellite teams in Cairo during the school holidays, rather than attending a formal trial.
"Coach Mosimane’s son Reatlegile, was not trialling with Barcelona," Mosimane's representatives MT Sports Marketing & Management tells Kickoff.com.
"He was in fact training with the Barcelona franchise team whilst he was on school holiday in Egypt. Those students who attend the training are required to pay."
The Barcelona Academy Egypt lays claim to being the first official branch of the Spanish club's famed youth academy and has splintered into four separate branches across the country since being launched back in 2006.
