Without the influence of Pitso Mosimane at the Egyptian heavyweights, Tau has become a subject of transfer talk with reports suggesting the South African has been transfer-listed.

Tau alongside five other players is believed to have been made available which includes former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Luis Miquissone.

The 28-year-old has eight goals in 28 appearances since arriving in Cairo and has battled with injury in recent times leaving him with two appearances since Mosimane left.

According to Egyptian news website and television channel Sada El-Balad the Belgians have offered USD 2 million (approx. R33,38 million) though Al Ahly’s evaluation is at double that amount.

"The Belgian club Anderlecht offered Al-Ahly management $2 million to buy Percy Tau once and for all in the upcoming summer window.

"Al Ahly officials reserved the value of Anderlecht’s offer to include Percy Tau and requested $4 million (approx. R67,7 million) to agree to complete the deal at a minimum in the next summer transfer window in the new season," reads the report.

Tau previously featured for Anderlecht while on loan from then-parent club Brighton & Hove Albion but was recalled halfway through the loan.

He has been included in Al Ahly’s match-day squad to face Pharco in a midweek league match paving way for his first appearance under Ricardo Soares.

Al Ahly are set to finish without silverware as they are 11 points behind Zamalek in the league despite having two games in hand.
