CEO Raymond Hack says an announcement on just when the Brazilian will arrive in the country will be made next week. It is believed a work permit has not been attained in time for his scheduled arrival of May 9.

Santana takes over the national side after the resignation of compatriot Carlos Albert Parreira, who returned to his homeland at the beginning of this month, citing family reasons.

Meanwhile, Santana saw his Flamengo side knocked out of the Copa Libertadores by America on Wednesday night. America, beaten 4-2 in the first leg and under interim coach Juan Antonio Luna, contrived to win the return leg 3-0 at the Maracana.
