Inspirational captain, Musa Otieno says the fact that the People’s Team is playing under a new coach bodes well to Santos’ aspirations to move up the log because he feels that the players will be hungry to impress Bright.
Emphasising that the club is eager to turn draws into victories, the giant Kenyan defender reveals that the morale in camp is high ahead of tonight’s clash.
“The players are raring to go. We want to take over from where we left off in the first half of the season where our performance had improved considerably. The fact that the players will work hard to impress the new coach will enhance our quest to come away with the three points,” he adds.
Santos’ management brought in former Botswana youth coach Bright during the league recess to take the club forward again.
Otieno concedes there are some games that 11th placed Santos could have picked up full points in the first half of the season.
“We do not go out there to play for draws but for maximum points however things do not always pan out that way. At times we have been unlucky while on other occasions we have let ourselves down by failing to score from the chances that we create.
“However, tonight will be a different ball game altogether. We are aware it is not going to be an easy match, but we are going all out to ensure that we score goals. The fact that there are no injuries to worry about in camp will enhance our intentions,” insists the veteran centre-back.
