The Old Lady were dominating possession in the early stages, while the hosts were comfortable sitting deep.

Miralem Pjanic came close to grabbing the lead for Bianconeri in the 16th minute with a strike from just outside the box that came off the outside of the crossbar.

The visitors were doing all the pressing after 20 minutes while Udinese were holding out in numbers at the back.

Rodrigo Bentancur finally found the breakthrough for Massimiliano Allegri’s charges in the 33rd minute with a close range header following a counter-attack, 0-1.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave Juventus a 2-0 lead eight minutes before halftime with a left-footed finish into the bottom corner after combining with Mario Mandzukic.

Antonin Barak almost pulled a goal back for the hosts on the stroke of halftime, striking a loose ball on the edge of the box that unfortunately came off the crossbar.

Kevin Lasagna should have got a goal back for Julio Velazquez’s troops five minutes into the second stanza after going through inside the box striking with the net gaping, but Emre Can cleared his effort off the line.

Ronaldo had another opportunity for Juventus in the 74th minute with a low shot inside the box that was again saved by Udinese goalkeeper Simone Scuffet.

Mandzukic fancied his chances to get on the score-sheet ten minutes before time with a curling strike from the edge of the box that sailed over the bar.

The Bianconeri were still piling the pressure in the last ten minutes but Scuffet made the scoreline respectable with great saves as it ended 0-2 to Juventus.

Juventus have now won all their eight matches so far this season and sit pretty at the top of the standings.
