Setbacks for Botswana

accreditation

The 26-year-old Mochudi Centre Chiefs defender is the country’s tried and tested player and has been a regular with the Zebras for the past three years.

Motlhabankwe tells snl24.com/kickoff that he is disappointed that he will not be going to Durban with the team as the match could possibly open doors in the Absa Premiership for him.

“I’m disappointed that most teams who have already heard about me will not get a chance to see me play against Bafana; but that’s the name of the game.”

Mothabankwe has been on trials at both Supersport United and Moroka Swallows in the past.

“I was due to go back to Supersport but then Pitso left to take up his position with Bafana Bafana. I have not heared from Gavin though.”

‘Talk Talk’, as the player is affectionately known, was on the verge of signing for Errol Dicks’ FC Cape Town last Jnue but negotiations broke down at last minute.

Meanwhile, Botswana Under-23 stars, Gobonyeone Selefa, Dirang Moloi and Oteng Moalosi are expected to be given a chance against Bafana.

Cape Town’s Santos-based midfield strongman Mogogi Gabonamong will not take part in the game as his problems with the national association have not been resolved as yet.

“Mogogi is a very good player, but his problems with the FA seem to be far from finished and he will not be with us. We gave him a call-up,” coach Colyn Rowe told the media in Gaborone.

Jomo Cosmos’ star, Dipsy Selolwane, will captain the Zebras.
