Sheppard needs fresh start - Moloto

accreditation

Team coach Trott Moloto tells snl24.com/kickoff that there is no chance that the former Ajax Cape Town player will be moving to any of the clubs that have shown an interest in him of late.

Moloto states that the Brazilians have no intention of further reducing their squad.

Sheppard is known to be one of Sundowns’ favourite sons, a quality player, and without a doubt, one of the best midfielders in the country on his day.

However, he only managed seven starts last season, before being struck down by a career threatening injury.

“Dillon needs to believe mentally that he is strong again and that his injury has cleared up. He has been frustrated by the injury, but being such an asset to us, we will always want him to be part of the team.

“What he needs now is to start afresh, without forcing himself to play until he is fit again.

“We have been monitoring him, and he played a full game in the Mpumalanga Premier Cup during the pre-season, which means he is getting his act together,” Moloto adds.

Sheppard says he still has a contract with Sundowns, and wants to stay with the club.

“It is my aim to get fit and compete for a regular berth like any other player in the team.”
