Sour taste to Laffor deal

Is it bitterness or not, you decide.

Cosmos say Laffor must take full responsibility for his contract not being renewed at Ezenkosi.

“He (Laffor) would literally be standing during a game. His negative behaviour didn’t start now either. It is now clear he was used to taking the team down and is partly to blame for our being in the relegation zone,” Sono is quoted as saying on the club’s website.

But despite Cosmos’ claims Laffor seems to have other career ambitions as he has used the opportunity of being near the end of his contract, to sign a pre-contract to move to Supersport.

Clearly unhappy with the outcome, Cosmos have gone the hard route and handed Laffor a letter informing him that he will train with the club’s Under-19 team, under Ronnie Moroka, for the remainder of the season.

“Should you not adhere to this request, you will be in breach of your contract and liable for suspension without pay,” reads part of the letter.

The temperamental Laffor, who arrived at Cosmos three years ago from Liberia and has proved to be a talented player who can play either as a striker or an attacking midfielder, is scheduled to join Matsatsantsa at the end of the season.
