Stars beat Black Leopards

accreditation

Leopards tried to get onto the score sheet from early on, but the visitors absorbed their pressure well.

Stars managed to penetrate in the 30th minute, when Maluleke’s back pass was intercepted by Diyo Sibisi, who sent a long cross to an unmarked November who headed home from inside the box.

Leopards had numerous chances from then on, but luck was not on their side, and eventually Stars made it 2-0 in the 60th minute.

The second goal came from another counterattack, with Sibisi again the provider. The Stars man pulled the Leopards defence out to the right, and shot a cross to the far post for a lone Mbuyane to head in.

Maluleke went some way to make up for his earlier mistake when he sent a cross into the box for Ramavhale to head into the far left corner.

The result takes Stars to 8th on the table with 24 points, Leopards staying rooted to the bottom on 14.
