Students aim to build on Celtic win

accreditation

Kick off is at 15h30.

Goals from Clive Moyo-Modise and Noah Chivuta saw the Clever Boys claim a morale boosting win over high-riding Celtic in a dramatic match at the BidVest Stadium in Johannesburg and coach Roger de Sa will hope for a similar result this weekend.

It was Wits’ first win in five games, breaking a spell that saw them pick up just two points from a possible 12 after a strong start to the campaign.

Arrows head into the match after a draw against Thanda Royal Zulu in the Durban Derby on Wednesday night and coach Manqoba Mngqithi, while probably disappointed that his team did not capitalise on their chances to win the match, will be confident that he can upset the home when Abafana Bes’thende head to Johannesburg this weekend.

Last season Wits won this fixture 1-0 thanks to a goal from Brazilian striker Marcos De Jesus, while Arrows went on to win the return match in Durban 3-1.

The teams have met 10 times in the top flight since 2001/02 and Wits have the statistical edge, having won six matches to Arrows’ three.
