Sundowns sign First Division striker

accreditation

The duo joins Free State Star striker Fanyana Dhladhla and Black Leopards’ defender Luvhengo Mungomeni who are expected to be officially paraded as Sundowns players during a press conference scheduled for later this week.

Lions’ manager Joshua Ndwandwe has confirmed that both Mpangase and Makhoba were cleared to the Brazilians over the weekend.

“Initially, Sundowns wanted to sign four of our players after watching them play in Durban and Cape Town before the Christmas break.

“However, as we are also ambitious about getting to Premiership next season, we decided wanted to hold some of players and that is why we only agreed to release only the two.

“Makhoba has been our top goal scorer for the past three seasons and has already scored six goals in 10 games this season. Mpangase, who plays in central defence, has always been our most reliable man at the back.

“We have already replaced them by promoting two of our youngsters, Khaya Makhanya and Gift Zungu, from our development ranks, Ndwandwe added.
