Phunya Sele Sele, who are troubled financially, are said to be interested in former Mamelodi Sundowns and University of Pretoria forward Tebogo Reed.
The highly rated Reed, who is the son of Celtic legend Benjamin, is said to have impressed Phunya Sele Sele coach Steve Komphela during an assessment recently.
Reed is set to join Siwelele as free agent after he was released by Sundowns before the transfer window period deadline last month, according to a source close to Celtic.
“There were few issues with the player and Sundowns. Pitso Mosimane wanted to keep the youngster as there were few other clubs chasing for his signature,” said the source.
“He has been training with Celtic and they want to sign him,” he added.
Celtic already have a decent strike force, with Tshegofatso Mabasa and Ndumiso Mabena currently doing the business for the club upfront. The talented Reed would be a good addition to the club.
