Fransman left Celtic to join Maritzburg United after deciding against extending his stay at the club he joined from SuperSport United in 2014.

Phunya Sele Sele have now given 22-year-old Sibanda a three-year contract and according to the club’s media officer Sello Nduna, the young defender will surprise a lot of people.

“He plays as a centre-back as well as in central midfield. The intention with our youth structures is to make sure that every year we promote two or three players to the senior team and also with Bevan Fransman no longer with us, you need to fill up those key positions,” Nduna tells KickOff.com.

“Obviously he’s coming from the development so it might take him a while to break into the first team. You’ll see him. Listen, you’ll see him. He is in the mould of Hlompho Kekana in terms of how he is built. I don’t like to sell my players but watch the space,” he concludes.
