“Reading Football Club are pleased to announce that Finnish goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola has completed a move to Madejski Stadium, signing a two-year deal with the Royals,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“The 29-year-old keeper joins the RG2 ranks for an undisclosed transfer fee, moving from South African top flight side Ajax Cape Town to become a Reading player ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.”
KickOff.com on Sunday broke the news of the Finn’s departure, with the talented shot-stopper today completing his medical in England, and will fly out on Monday night to Holland to join his new teammates for preseason.
Jaakkola, who started 25 League games last season, spent three years with the Urban Warriors, and last season played a crucial role as his side took MTN8 honours following victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Final.
"We can officially confirm that Thabo Mosadi has joined Ajax Cape Town following the completion of his medical with the club," read a statement on Ajax's official website.
