Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi has been appointed caretaker coach at Royal Eagles

Dikgacoi has been handed the coaching duties in the absence of head coach Roger Sikhakhane, who is currently on sick leave.

The former Crystal Palace midfielder showed that he can take good care of the side in Sikhakhane’s absence over the weekend as Eagles registered a 1-0 victory over Uthongathi FC at Chatsworth Stadium.

According to an informant,'KG' could be offered a chance to lead Eagles as caretaker coach until the end of the season.

"So far the management is happy with the work done by Kagisho Dikgacoi,” a source says.

“There is a high possibility that he could be handed the coaching position if Mr Skhakhane's sick leave is extended for more months.”

Dikgacoi watched his former teammate Benni McCarthy lift his first trophy as a coach, as Cape Town City beat SuperSport United on penalties in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Dikgacoi will no doubt be inspired to do well with Eagles and make a name for himself as a coach.
