
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder was among a raft of new signings unveiled by Highlands yesterday after he did not make the move to Cape Town after Aces were bought by John Comitis.
Khuboni says even though there was interest from the likes of Wits and Sundowns, Highlands offered him a better contract.
“There were teams that were interested [in me]. Highlands Park came with a better contract than the other teams and as a player I felt that I can play at Highlands because in the end it’s all about getting a good contract and playing,” Khuboni tells snl24.com/kickoff.
“I was told that Wits was interested and Sundowns came to talk to me a long time back but they never came back. I was told that Platinum Stars was interested as well,” he reveals.
The 30-year-old ex-Golden Arrows man has signed a two-year contract with the PSL rookies.
