The Bafana Bafana and Under-23 international was linked with a move to the reigning Absa Premiership champions, but says he knows nothing about such developments.

“My aim now is not to go to any other PSL team. My focus is to make sure I have a good Olympics and try to get a contract overseas,” Coetzee tells snl24.com/kickoff.

“I never had anything from Sundowns as far as I know, I am an Ajax Cape Town player and I'm focused on the club.”

The 19-year-old adds that his aim in at the Rio Olympic Games is to impress the international scouts and earn a contract at a European club.

“The Olympics is a good platform not for me only, but the whole team as well because all of us, we are still young and we need to make sure that teams from overseas scout us and maybe a few of us will get contracts abroad,” Coetzee says.

“So my aim is to go there and have a good tournament and help the team as much as I can and hopefully then, I will have few teams knocking at my door to give me a contract.”
