Chiefs on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Moon, who worked with Amakhosi coach Komphela at former club Maritzburg United.
"He (Komphela) has basically put everything on a silver platter for me," Moon tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"It's up to me now to grab the opportunity with both hands. I need to repay the coach for the faith and confidence he is showing in me by affording me a chance to play for the biggest club in South Africa.
"I know the coach is definitely someone that rewards players for their hard work and that's my aim of course."
The 19-year-old striker is the younger brother of ex-Bafana Bafana fullback Bryce. Ryan says his sibling has advised him on how to conduct himself at Naturena.
"Well, I never imagined it to happen so soon but my brother and I always had a soft spot for Chiefs," says Ryan.
"Now I'm getting this amazing opportunity to play for them. It's really something special you know.
"I'm aware of the pressure that comes with playing for Chiefs but Bryce has also told me to remain grounded and focused and not to get sidetracked.
"So I'm taking it all in my stride for now but like I said I really want to repay the coach for this fantastic opportunity in my young career."
