Sherwyn Naicker on the hunt for a new club with Orlando Pirates no longer interested

In the wake of that news, Naicker revealed that he is unsure of what is next on the agenda but is trying to stay upbeat.

"I really don't know what's next for me now, I will probably go somewhere outside Gauteng. There's nothing yet. It's so sad, I honestly thought I had a good season and for no teams to show interest it's disappointing," he tells snl24.com/kickoff.

The former Jomo Cosmos shot stopper was diplomatic when speaking on the situation stating that it was no surprise Bafana Bafana keeper Mabokgwane had been picked.

"He was the obvious choice, he's a Bafana keeper, I didn't expect anything less honestly. Although it's disappointing but I'm happy for him, he's been working hard and I'm glad that he's got a good team," said Naicker.

"To be honest I don't want to be a third choice keeper, I just need a chance to compete. In fact as long as it is a PSL club I will consider it.

"I think I deserve to be there [PSL], I'm not contracted to any club so I'm a free agent, I can sign for any good team. If Moroka Swallows happens to buy the Free State Stars status I will also jump on the opportunity to join them."

Naicker concluded by issuing a come-and-get-me plea to all PSL clubs.

"I'm available at the moment, I've had 10 clean sheets in the past season, and that's with the team that got relegated," he said.

"There are only four other keepers who managed to achieve that last season. I definitely think I can add value to any team. I will consider any team that makes an offer."
