The Chilli Boys also recently placed head coach Dan Malesela on 'special leave', leaving former Platinum Stars defender Mbuyiselo Sambu in charge of the relegation-threatened club in a caretaker capacity.
Club spokesperson Luthando Zibeko was cagey when asked about Dlangalala's whereabouts ahead of Saturday's clash with Ajax Cape Town at Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
"I can't talk about the issue of the assistant coach. I can only talk about the game against Ajax on Saturday," said Zibeko.
"We will make some announcements, probably tomorrow."
Dlangalala joined United in January a week after leaving Orlando Pirates where he worked as a reserve team coach, having previously been on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns.
