The 25-year-old former Pirates midfield general has battled to make an impact in Denmark since his move from the Buccaneers last year and played just a bit part as Aalborg won their first title in a decade last week.
Vilakazi appeared as a substitute in a Uefa Cup tie in December, but it took a further four months before he got his league debut, coming off the bench against AGF only last month. Since then, he has played two more games as a late substitute.
Vilakazi was given a mark of seven out of 10 for Sunday’s contribution by Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. He was taken off after 65 minutes.
Sunday’s match also marked the return after injury of Siyabonga Nomvete, who was brought on for the final 12 minutes of the match.
Aalborg complete their season at home to Odense on Saturday.
