Former Bucs’ star Benedict Vilakazi tells snl24.com/kickoff that he wishes the ‘rules could be bent’ to enable him to be part of the historical event at the Johannesburg Stadium.

The diminutive player is in the country as the Danish league, where his club, Aalborg, tops the standings, is in recess and will only resume next month.

“I cannot explain how I feel right now. I wish it were possible for me to appear as a guest player on this momentous occasion. I wish they could bend the rules just this once.

The 25-year-old Soweto-born midfielder tells Pirates’ website that he is impressed by Buc’s current form and is confident his former teammates will mark the 70th anniversary in perfect style by beating the League champions and go all the way and win the Premiership title.

‘Tso’ predicts a 2-1 victory for his erstwhile club with Excellent Walaza, Gilbert Mushangazhike and in-form Teko Modise finding the target.

“My prediction does not mean I don’t think highly of the other guys. I have a feeling we are going to beat the Brazilians this time around. As a true Buccaneer, I wish the guys the best of luck and should do it to honour all those who have been part of the Bucs family over the last 70 years,” he adds.

Vilakazi left the Buccaneers during the off-season to join Aalborg. He says things are looking up at his new club but relishes the opportunity of evading the chilly weather in the Scandinavian country.
