Urban Warriors sign Vilakazi

Fanteni will be moving to Israeli giants Maccabi Haifa, in a deal worth R10 million, after the African Nations Cup in Ghana.

The league leaders signed the 28-year-old Vilakazi for an undisclosed fee after he spent two days at the club’s Ikamva base this week, undergoing his medical tests.

Ajax CEO John Comitis confirmed the signing to KickOff.com.

“Yes it’s true, we have signed him on a three-and-a-half year deal. We would also like to thank Free State Stars for their co-operation throughout the negotiations.”

The club’s PRO Thabiso Mekuto told KickOff.com: “Sifiso has been with the club yesterday (Monday) and today (Tuesday) and passed his medical tests. He is a very good striker and we have always been interested in him. Wilfred Mugeyi (assistant coach) knows the player very well from his time at Free State Stars.”

Mekuto also added that they will not be making any further signings this month.
