And Cape Town’s Vasco da Gama were the first team to qualify for Saturday’s Coastal Stream semifinals.
They easily overcame Bush Bucks 4-0 and as Group C Coastal winners, will line up against Matatiele Professionals for a place in the First Division.
In the same group, Rangers of KZN humiliated William Pescod 9-0, but due to an earlier loss to Bucks, finished as runners-up.
Joel Moilwa hit four great goals for Calvin Petersen’s side but Pescod had two men red-carded and were no match at all.
In Group D Coastal, Matat Pros make it to the semis by way of a narrow 1-0 over KZN champions Island FC, while Mr Price Parkhurst finally picked up a win against bottom-of-the-log Louisvale Pirates.
Jerry Sikhosana’s much-fancied Mahlangu Tigers, who did so well in the Gauteng League, suffered their second loss of the tournament, going down 2-1 to City of Matlosana in Group B Inland.
Top of the table is Mafube United of the Free State, managed an exciting 3-2 victory over the undefeated Barberton City Stars, and should qualify for the Inland Stream semifinal after today’s match against The Dolphins.
They require at least a draw to go through to the Inland semifinal.
The other in-form Free State side, Carara Kicks scored their 10th goal of the play-off campaign – beating the hitherto unbeaten Batau FC 2-0 to now top the log in Group A Inland.
And like their provincial counterparts Mafube, require just one point against Classic in today’s match to qualify.
In another match, Soweto Panthers and Classic played to a 3-3 draw.
