Walter Nyamilandu-Manda elected to the FIFA General Council

Nyamilandu beat out South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan, claming 35 votes to 18 for the South African.

The vote took place on Sunday at a special sitting of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee in Egypt.

Nyamilandu and Jordaan were initially involved in a three-way race for the position, but Tanzania Football Federation president Leodgar Tenga dropped out in the first round.
