Red-hot Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile put the Brave Warriors ahead a little to the final exchanges of the first half with a close-range finish.

Senegal 5-1 Mozambique

Senegal took a giant leap towards qualification for the finals through a one-sided 5-1 victory over Mozambique to maintain their perfect start in Group L.

The title holders were dominant from the onset and took no less than nine minutes to go ahead courtesy of Youssouf Sabaly following Iliman Ndiaye’s assist.

Sabaly switched matters after four minutes when he set-up captain and Bayern Munich’s talisman Sadio Mane to double their cushion.

The Teranga Lions didn’t take their foot of the pedal and bagged a third around the half-hour mark through the boot of Ndiaye.

With halftime drawing closer, the host helped themselves to a fourth and comfortable footing to the interval as Boulaye Dia pounced and dispatched.

Mozambique staged a fight back despite the hefty score-line and got on the score-sheet two minutes after halftime through Gildo Vilanculos.

However, the Teranga Lions didn’t drop heads and grabbed a fifth with two minutes to play through Habib Diallo who latched in Bamba Dieng’s ball and completed the route.

Ivory Coast 3-1 Comoros

Ivory Coast brushed the Comoros 3-1 to pick up their second win and regain top spot from Zambia in Group H out at the Stade Bouake.

The Elephants hit the front through Christian Kouame right ahead of the half-hour mark and entered the halftime period a goal to the good.

Jean-Louis Gasset’s men extended their tally after the break through a finish from Borussia Dortmund’s Sebastien Haller following Wilfried Singo’s assist.

Ivory Coast put the contest beyond doubt in the final minute courtesy of Jean-Philippe Krasso, but the visitors got a consolation with the last kick of the match through Ibroihim Djoudja.
