The Red Devils defeated El-Mahalla 2-1 on Wednesday night thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Mohamed Sherif to put more pressure on Zamalek.

El-Mahalla have now released a statemen expressing their displeasure with the referee for not handling the pitch invader situation properly.

“In light of the consequences we face from the mistakes of some Egyptian referees that have occurred on more than an occasion, the club has filed official complaints to the Egyptian Clubs Association and Egyptian Football Association,” El-Mahalla said in a statement, as per KingFut.

“A fan invaded the pitch in the 91st minute and remained there for a while without the referee putting the game to a temporary halt, which is a serious mistake that requires the game to be replayed.”

The 10-time CAF Champions League winners currently sit in third spot, four points behind league leaders Zamalek with three games in hand.
