Serbian head coach Milutin Sredojevic has recruited a former PSL striker into his technical team following his return to the dugout.

Sredojevic has been re-appointed as head coach of Uganda just days after being sacked as the Zambian national team coach.

Since his appointment, Sredojevic swiftly moved to bring in Geofrey Massa to his managerial team as team manager.

Massa will now form part of a technical team featuring Livingston Mbabazi as assistant coach and Fred Kajoba as goalkeeper coach, with Frank Plaine as director of performance.

The former Uganda international featured in the PSL for various teams such as Jomo Cosmos, the University of Pretoria, Bloemfontein Celtic and Baroka FC, scoring 17 goals in total.

The 35-year-old remains renowned for the thunderous punch he packed in his shots at goal.

The striker retired two years ago in 2019 and brought to a close a career that included 68 appearances for The Cranes spanning a dozen years since making his debut in 2005.

Sredojevic last week signed a three-year deal having had two previous stints as head coach of Orlando Pirates, the most recent of which ended two years ago in controversial circumstances when he faced accusations of sexual harassment, which were later dropped.

The Cranes’ last match was a friendly international against Bafana Bafana last month when Abdallah Mubiru took charge having taken over from Johnny McKinstry.

Just over a week ago Micho reached a mutual separation with Zambia following a disappointing showing at the Cosafa Cup with Chipolopolo having also failed to qualify for the Afcon finals.

The Serbian's appointment come ahead of the start of Uganda's crucial World Cup qualifiers in September.
