Nabil Maaloul: Pitso Mosimane should have been replaced a while ago

The Red Devils and Mosimane parted ways last month after the South African spent nearly two years in charge.

Mosimane guided Al Ahly to three successive CAF Champions League titles, winning two (2020 and 2021) while they lost to Wydad Casablanca in the third.

Esperance claims the Red Devils should have parted ways with Mosimane sooner due to the football being played.

“Egyptian fans love to see good results but they also want to see good football.”

When asked about Ricardo Soares replacing Mosimane, he added,"Ricardo Soares is a good coach and he plays good football, big teams like Al Ahly must have a coach who can deal with criticism.”

Soares started his Al Ahly reign with a 2-0 win over second-division side Petrojet 2-0 in the 2020/21 Egypt Cup semi-finals. They will now face Zamalek in the final.
