Carteron and Zamalek 'amicably' parted ways this week after the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League.

The White Knight have now confirmed the return of Jesualdo Ferreira as the club's head coach.

"Ferreira is the new coach of the Zamalek club. He is a competent coach who has previously coached the team and achieved the league and cup double," club president Mortada Mansour said, as per the club's official website.

"The details of his contract have been finalized, and the contract will be for a season and a half."

Ferreira managed to win the Egyptian Premier League and Egypt during his one-year stay with Zamalek seven years ago.
