Egyptian Premier League club's Pyramids FC, Zamalek and Al Ahly naturally held the top three spots as the big-spending sides were coached by highly-respected managers Ramon Diaz, Christian Gross and Martin Lasarte respectively.
While all three managers have since departed from their roles, the subsequent replacements have been afforded equally impressive packages to match their lofty ambitions of dominating African football.
According to Moroccan publication LeSport 360, Absa Premiership title-winning coaches Mosimane and Gavin Hunt is now amongst the highest earners.
Hunt, a four-time league winning coach, who holds over two decades of experience in management, is said to be earning $38k-per-month (R557 000).
While Mosimane, who has also lifted four league titles in South Africa and the CAF Champions League is reportedly on $56 000-per-month (R821 000) with Masandawana.
The report further added that ex-Pirates boss Micho, now at Zamalek, is on a lucrative one-year deal raking in $100 000-per-month (R1.46m) - which was confirmed by club President Mortada Mansour shortly after his arrival.
Patrice Carteron of Botola giants Raja Casablanca and Wadi Degla's Panagiotis Gonias remain on the list, having extended their stays with their current clubs.
