Al Ahly academy star suffers tragic death

A 19-year-old Al Ahly academy star sadly passed away on Sunday after falling from his balcony.

The Egyptian giants confirmed the passing of their youth star Ziad Ehab after a fatal fall at his home, per KingFut.

The under-19 goalkeeper was widely regarded as one of the most eagerly-awaited talents in the Red Devils' youth system and has been a regular in goal last season and during the current campaign.

The tragic news came on Sunday morning when it was reported that the youngster had fatally fallen from his balcony, which resulted in his instant passing.

The reigning African champions released a statement on their official website mourning the tragic death of the teenager: "Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, and members of the board of directors and the sports sectors, mourn with great sadness and sorrow one of the club’s sons, the young “Ziad Ihab” goalkeeper of Al-Ahly football team, born in 2003, who passed away today [Sunday].

"The Board of Directors extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and his colleagues, praying May the Almighty God bless him with his vast mercy and enter him into his vast gardens.

"We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return."

The club also vowed to the player's family with the necessary support, including the "procedures for his burial".
