Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has been slammed for his recent comments about the controversial penalty incident during the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier between the Black Stars and South Africa.
While the outcome of FIFA's investigation into the matter is yet to be revealed, the founder of Ghanian Premier League side King Faisal Babes FC, Alhaji Grunsah, has now labelled Gyan a "pretender" for his remarks.

The 36-year-old admitted in a recent radio interview with Accra-based Asempa FM that the penalty was not a clear one and felt that Daniel Amartey went to ground "very easily" following little contact.
"The cameras in the stadium weren't good enough but those on the field of play are in a better position to make a judgement on it," the former Rennes star said.
"But, to me, the infringement looked very casual. The player went down very easily but the referee was very close to the incident so he can make his decision on the field, but from where I sit, I think Amartey went down very easily.
"I'm just expressing my opinion but those on the field of play can make a better judgement. I think it was a 50-50 decision.
"The game was played under high-intensity pressure and that could affect the decision of the referee."

These comments have seemingly aggravated Grunsah, who tore into the ex-Udinese striker on live radio on Wednesday.
"Asamoah Gyan is ungrateful and a pretender," he told Asempa FM.
"He won't even get the opportunity to become a ball boy, he should stop talking about the penalty against South Africa."
